About this event
Welcome to the inaugural McAllen Triathlon Challenge, a fast, spectator-friendly sprint triathlon designed for experienced triathletes and first-time competitors alike. Athletes will begin with a 250-meter pool swim at McAllen Municipal Pool using a time-trial start. Participants will self-seed by anticipated swim pace and enter the pool individually at intervals.
After exiting the pool, athletes will enter the transition area located in the McAllen Municipal Pool parking lot and begin a 20-kilometer (12.4-mile) bike course heading north on Bicentennial Boulevard. Bicentennial Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic between Pecan Boulevard (FM 495) and Nolana Avenue.
